Ilegenes: The Genetic Sodom Ilegenes ( イ ル ゲ ネ ス - The Genetic Sodom ILEGENES ) is the name of two light novels by Mizuna Kuwabara with drawings by Nanae Chrono . It belongs to the genres of action , drama and science fiction .
From 2008 to 2010 an adaptation of a five-part manga series was published by Kuwabara with illustrations by Kachiru Ishizue . This tells a story that takes place before the action of the light novels. The manga was continued in 2011.

On the island of Ileges there is an internationally highly regarded facility for genetic research . In addition to their research on genetic engineering, there is an underground organization called the Black Market, which makes a profit from the mass production of clones and human trafficking . That is why Ileges is described by the people as the place that God has turned his back on.
In order to get stronger, Fon F. Littenber enrolled at the military school on the island . His plan is to avenge the death of his parents and to smash the Black Market organization. Fon's father was Professor Littenber, who founded the research facility and is therefore considered the father of Genetic Sodom. Fon quickly becomes the target of rival classmates and the rumor that he has been chosen by his father for genetic engineering is making the rounds.
Together with other classmates, Fon founds the anti-government organization "Ivory". In the meantime, government officials who have contacts with Black Market have recognized that Fon poses a threat to them. One day the academy gets two new classmates, even though the facility is a boys academy.

From June 10, 2008 to November 15, 2010, Mizuna Kuwabara published a five-part manga series with illustrations by Kachiru Ishizue . The manga appeared in Japan in the Monthly Comic Avarus published by Mag Garden . Translations into English, Polish, French and Chinese followed. In the English-speaking world, the manga was only available as a web manga on the Sugoi Books app, which has since been discontinued.
Kuwabara continued the manga in three parts between 2011 and 2013.
