Ilya Pavlovich Petrushevsky
Ilya Pavlovich Petruschewski ( Russian Илья Павлович Петрушевский ;. Scientific transliteration Il'ja Pavlovič Petruševskij ; born June 10 . Jul / 22. June 1898 greg. In Kiev , † 1977 in Leningrad ) was a Soviet historian and orientalist .
Live and act
He spent much of his previous scientific career in the Azerbaijani SSR . He was Professor of Middle Eastern History at Leningrad University for more than 20 years .
One of his best-known works is his book Islam in Iran , which was translated into English by Hubert Evans.
Petrushevsky was buried in the Seraphim Cemetery in St. Petersburg .
