Ilona Einwohlt (born June 26, 1968 in Pinneberg ) is a German author for children and young people.

biography

Ilona Einwohlt was born in Pinneberg and grew up in Darmstadt . After graduating from high school, which she passed in 1988 at the comprehensive school Schuldorf Bergstrasse , she began studying Spanish and German at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt ; The focus was on children's and youth literature at the Institute for Youth Book Research. Ilona Einwohlt studied in Granada for a year and passed her master's degree in 1996 . After completing her studies, she completed a traineeship at Loewe Verlag and then moved to the Arena Verlag as an editor . Since July 2000 she has been writing children's and youth literature as a freelance author and is one of the initiators of the Darmstadt youth and children's literature festival "Huch, ein Buch!"

She is particularly interested in the emancipation of girls and the question of what role girls are confronted with today and how they can deal with it. One of her best-known books is the “Sina series” (including “Mein Pickel und Ich”) from Arena Verlag , in which the protagonist Sina Rosenmüller tells, like a diary and with many helpful tips, from the hormone-riddled everyday life of a teenage boy in the middle of puberty Volumes are a novel and a non-fiction book at the same time. In September 2015 she published her first children's book “Advent, Advent, die Bude is burning - The Christmas story according to Luca”.

Ilona Einwohlt lives with her family in Weiterstadt near Darmstadt.
