In the center (the title is capitalized by ORF, among other things, as in the ZENTRUM or IM ZENTRUM , sometimes in italics, since the change of moderator in 2017 also in the center with Claudia Reiterer ) is an Austrian television talk show, which was first broadcast in 2007 as a follow-up to Frankly .

broadcast

Every Sunday guests are invited to political issues that are discussed in the broadcast. In the first few months the show was led by Peter Pelinka, Gabi Waldner and Elmar Oberhauser. The latter two dropped out of the program in autumn 2007. In 2008 they followed Ingrid Thurnher, who alternated the talk show with Pelinka. Pelinka left at the end of 2014. Claudia Reiterer has been moderating the program as successor to Ingrid Thurnher since 2017 . From February to April 2018, Tarek Leitner represented the show for Claudia Reiterer, who was ill.

Between 2007 and 2011, Im Zentrum was produced on the top floor of the Haas-Haus in Vienna ; for cost reasons, the program moved to the foyer of the ORF center on Küniglberg . Since 2011, the talk, like its predecessor , has been broadcast to a studio audience.

Im Zentrum has been broadcasting from a conventional studio since autumn 2013 .

Audience ratings

The program's quotas are within the average of the broadcaster. In 2010, an average market share of around 20 percent was measured.

On January 30, 2011, the show's highest ratings to date were achieved. In the discussion about the Grasser affair , a market share of 30 percent and an average of 660,000 viewers was achieved. In this program, Grasser read a letter he had received from a fan, according to which he was too young, too intelligent, too beautiful for this hideous envious society . This sparked another huge wave of criticism against Grasser himself.
