Peter Pelinka

Peter Pelinka (born November 17, 1951 in Vienna ) is a journalist , author , presenter and former editor-in-chief of the news magazine News and Format .

Life

Pelinka grew up with parents and brother in Vienna-Josefstadt . He attended the Piarist high school and graduated there in 1970. Pelinka studied history and political science and has been a journalist since 1979.

From 1980 to 1990 he was editor of the Arbeiter-Zeitung , the then party organ of the SPÖ , and from 1990 to 1991 its editor-in-chief. In 1992 he became editor-in-chief of the largest Austrian news magazine, News . Peter Pelinka switched from News to Format (at the same publisher) in April 2006 and was editor-in-chief there. In February 2010 he was appointed editor-in-chief for the second time. In June 2012, he was replaced by Wolfgang Ainetter and became editor of the magazine.
