Imagination is a 1943 American animated short film directed by Bob Wickersham .

action

A girl plays with her dolls, a woman and a man. The man has holes in his shoes, a button is missing and his shirt is broken. The girl wants to know what the man was up to at night. The narrator notes that many more people should have such a keen imagination as the child's.

The girl is sleeping and the dolls come to life. Doll man and doll woman are in love and dance, but a large male wind-up figure appears who wants to relax the man's woman. When the woman rejects him, the wind-up figure kidnaps the woman in his wind-up car. The doll man disguises himself in a paper dress -up doll arch in the woman and can take a seat in the passenger seat of the car unnoticed. He flirts with the worker and ties his hands when he pretends to want to knit and to have to put the wool over his hands. Then he reveals himself and beats the wind-up man out of the car. He drives on with the doll woman, but the pull-up man manages to get to an airplane via an airplane mobile and pull the doll man out of the car into the air with a plunger . The driverless car with the doll woman smashes against a table leg. The doll woman is now seriously injured in the hospital and her end is near when the doll man has a sand transfusion performed on him and thus saves the doll woman. Both dolls dance on the bed and finally fall lifeless as dolls into the arms of the sleeping girl. As it turns, the doll woman falls on the doll man and kisses him. The doll man gets a red head.
