Imke Vervaet (born April 11, 1993 ) is a Belgian sprinter .

Athletic career

Imke Vervaet gained her first international experience at the European Youth Olympic Festival 2009 in Tampere , where she won the silver medal in the 200-meter run in 24.35 seconds . Two years later she reached the final at the Junior European Championships in Tallinn , where she finished sixth in 23.78 s. In 2012 she was sixth in 23.47 s at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona and came fifth in 45.12 s with the Belgian 4 x 100 meter relay. The following year she took part in the relay at the U23 European Championshipsin Tampere, but was disqualified there in advance. In 2019 she qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated over 200 meters with 23.24 seconds in the lead . Furthermore, she finished fifth in the Belgian 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 27.15 min and could not qualify for the final in the mixed relay with 3: 16.16 min.

In 2019 Vervaet became Belgian champion in the 200-meter run outdoors and indoors.
