history

The first hospital in Eckernförde was opened in 1874. Local doctors could treat their patients there. There was space for 34 patients. The Fatherland Women's Association , the forerunner of the sororities of the German Red Cross , set up a foundation for the company. In 1927, operating theaters , an X-ray room and darkroom were set up in a new extension.

After previous financial difficulties in the Eckernförde district , the new hospital building could not be put into operation until September 1962. The construction of a nurses' home in the neighborhood followed.

In 1970 a retirement and nursing home with a total of 60 beds was built. In 1984, 60 apartments for assisted living were built in another new building .

In 1977 an extension building increased the bed capacity to 244 beds.

After the merger of the district hospitals in Rendsburg and Eckernförde in 1993, Sana Kliniken AG took over management.

Imland GmbH includes the Rendsburg and Eckernförde clinics and the Rendsburg and Eckernförde psychiatric day clinics . The senior citizens' homes in Eckernförde, Nortorf and Jevenstedt were taken over in 2016 by the Diakoniewerk Kropp Foundation and Diakonisches Werk Altholstein GmbH.
