The Immanuel Albertinen Diakonie (from Immanuel [name], Hebrew עִמָּנוּ אֵל 'God [is / be] with us'; from the superior Albertine Assor, the founder of the Albertinen Diakoniewerks and from ancient Greek διακονία diakonía 'service' or from διάκονος diákonos 'Servant') is a diaconal organization sponsored by a free church and in the form of a non-profit group of companies. It has around 6,700 employees at 65 locations in Germany. The Immanuel Albertinen Diakonie includes hospitals , medical practices, nursing and other therapeutic facilities. The group of companies is organized as a gGmbH . The founder and shareholder as the holding company of the pre-existing Immanuel Diakonie was the congregation of the baptisten.schöneberg ( Evangelical-Free Church Community Berlin-Schöneberg, K. d. Ö. R. ), which holds 50 percent of the shares in Immanuel Albertinen Diakonie. It emerged from the merger of Immanuel Diakonie with the Albertinen Diakoniewerk.

history

Immanuel Diakonie began in 1947 with the Feierabendheim hospital in the Schöneberg district of Berlin as an initiative of the Schöneberg Baptist church . In 1950 a hospital (in a former Siemens villa ) was added in Berlin-Wannsee , which was initially a pure youth hospital and was called Immanuel Hospital from 1952 .

After the political change , further facilities were integrated or set up, including various clinics, but also advice centers and other facilities. For example, life counseling in the Berlin Cathedral is also managed by Immanuel Diakonie. Immanuel Diakonie thus currently has facilities at locations in Berlin, Brandenburg , Thuringia , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Hesse . For a few years the Immanuel Diakonie also ran a facility in Styria / Austria (until 2015).

The Immanuel Albertinen Diakonie with the Immanuel Klinik Rüdersdorf and the Immanuel Klinikum Bernau Heart Center Brandenburg is a partner of the Medical University Campus GmbH, the sponsor of the private Brandenburg Medical University .

On January 1, 2019, the Immanuel Diokanie merged with the Albertinen-Diakoniewerk to form Immanuel Albertinen Diakonie.
