Iñaki Lejarreta
Iñaki Lejarreta Errasti (born September 1, 1983 in Bérriz , Bizkaia , † December 16, 2012 near Durango , Bizkaia) was a Spanish mountain biker .
Lejarreta, a son of cyclist Ismail Lejarreta and nephew of Marino Lejarreta , took second place in the individual competition at the Junior World Championship and won first place with the relay. In 2001 he exceeded his individual success from the previous year and became Junior World Champion. In 2007 he won the Spanish championship in mountain biking, in 2008 he was a member of the Spanish delegation at the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing and finished eighth in the mountain bike race. In 2011 he was runner-up in Spain.
During a training drive on December 16, 2012, Lejarreta was hit by a car near his home in Durango and died at the scene of the accident.
