Indra Tedjasukmana

Indra Tedjasukmana (born March 17, 1984 in Stuttgart ) is a German beatboxer, singer, composer and coach.

biography

Indra Tedjasukmana's musical career began when he took piano and keyboard lessons at the age of 13. At the age of 14 he began to experiment with different sounds and sounds, developing the ability to imitate different drum sounds with his mouth.

In 2000 he entered the stage for the first time as a beatboxer - with "The House Jacks", an American vocal music band. A year later he performed with the British pop stars “The Magnets” before becoming European champion at the international beatboxing competition “King of the Jam” in London in 2002.

With his vocal project “STC”, Indra Tedjasukmana was nominated for the “Grammy of the a cappella scene”, the CARA Award , in 2006. In 2006 he went on a world tour as a singer and vocal percussionist with the vocal groove project Bauchklang . In 2009 Bobby McFerrin chose Indra Tedjasukmana from among twenty European musicians for his project "Bobble".

In 2003, Indra Tedjasukmana gained some media presence when he taught participants the first steps in vocal percussion on the RTL2 program Fame Academy . Indra Tedjasukmana has also taught vocal percussion at many universities and music colleges, including Halle, Kassel, Weimar, Stuttgart, Cologne and Helsinki. In addition, he organizes workshops on the subject of vocal percussion for individuals, choirs and other a cappella formations as well as school classes and music schools.

Indra Tedjasukmana is a founding member of the vocal band Sonic Suite , with which he has won numerous national and international awards. With Sonic Suite he appeared as a supporting act in 2012 on the DJ BoBo tour "Dancing Las Vegas".

Indra Tedjasukmana lives in Dortmund .
