Infernal is a Brazilian death and thrash metal band from Curitiba that was formed in 1986.

history

The band was founded in 1986 by singer Paulo, guitarists Danilo Zolet and Marcelo Dos Anjos, bassist Renate "Covero" Augusto de Alburquerque and drummer Jonas. The first appearances followed, with the group playing as the inaugural band for MX in 1988 . Guitarist Lineau and singer Marcelo Paulista were represented as new members. In 1989, the band worked on their first demo, The First Stage , when the band got into trouble with the media due to the lyrics of Speak Portuguese or Die and Brazoo . In the following year, guitarist Mano and drummer Maurício Amormin again joined the band with two new members. With the new line-up, the group recorded the next album, Cathedral of Despair . The song Fear of Death was also included on the compilation Vampiros de Curitiba . The band released their first single, Of Weakness and Cowardice, in 1991, after which Mano left the band and was replaced by Juliano Oening. The band then held a concert in Araucária in front of over 4,000 people. Paulista then left the group to form the black metal band Amen Corner . After Marcelo Koehler joined the line-up as the new singer, recordings for the debut album Drowning in the Chalice of Sin began . For the recordings, Mano came from the band Hecatomb as guitarist for the band. However, Mano, who had previously left the band, came back to the band towards the end of the recordings. Juliano Oening later died in a car accident. The publication followed a few concerts until Mano left the band again to form the band Imperious Malevolence . As a result, Hecatombs Mano helped out again until Poyoka came back to the band as a permanent member. After a performance in Paraguay in May 1997 , Poyoka also left the band. He was briefly replaced by Daniel, who soon injured his left hand and was barely able to play the guitar. For the second album Ritual Humiliation , Luis "Luga" Gabriel Maluf da Silva joined the band to replace Daniel. The album was released in 2001.

style

The band plays a mixture of Thrash and Death Metal, whereby Death Metal is strongly based on Florida Death Metal .
