Inga Kristina Gentzel (born April 24, 1908 in Stockholm , † January 1, 1991 in Nyköping ) was a Swedish middle-distance runner and Olympic medalist.

In 1926 Gentzel started at the Women's World Games in Gothenburg . In the 1000-meter run she finished second after the British Edith Trickey after 3: 09.4 minutes .

On June 16, 1928, she set a new world record in the 800-meter run in Stockholm in 2: 20.4 minutes . Before the 1928 Summer Olympics , the German Lina Radke improved the world record to 2: 20.0 minutes. Athletic competitions for women were held for the first time at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam . In the Olympic final in Amsterdam, three runners remained below Radke's world record. Lina Radke won gold in 2: 16.8 minutes before Kinue Hitomi from Japan , Gentzel won bronze and improved the Swedish record to 2: 18.8 minutes. The record she set lasted until 1943, when Anna Larsson improved it in Gothenburg .

Gentzel won four Swedish championship titles over 800 meters from 1928 to 1931, and in 1929 she also won the 200-meter run. After her sporting career, she married and became a singer under the name Inga Dahlgren. Together with Ulla Castegren and Anna-Lisa Cronström she formed the Trio Rita , and her records were played in the entertainment program on Swedish radio.
