Inga Ley
Inga Ley , nee Inga Spilker , (born March 8, 1916 in Breslau , † December 29, 1942 in Waldbröl ) was the wife of Robert Ley , one of the leading politicians during the Nazi era .
Life
Inga Ley grew up in Breslau with her sister Gilly, her father Max Spilker was an opera singer, as was her mother Lore Franziska Spilker (née Kotz). Ley and her sister Gilly received early singing lessons. On August 20, 1938, she married Robert Ley, head of the DAF . The honeymoon took place together with Adolf Hitler and other party leaders on a trip of KDF -Schiffes Robert Ley instead. The couple lived in Berlin and on Gut Rottland near Waldbröl. Ley died in 1942 through suicide .
Ley wrote and illustrated children's books under the pseudonym Inga Hansen.
The marriage with Robert Ley resulted in three children Lore (* 1938), Wolf (* 1940) and Gloria (* 1941). After Inga Ley's suicide, Robert Ley placed the children in the care of his in-laws.
