Lee Richardson (singer)

Lee Richardson (* 1926 as Lee David Richard ) was an American rhythm and blues singer (baritone).

Richardson recorded the title "Lonesome Morning" under his own name for De Luxe Records in 1946 , accompanied by the Benny Carter Orchestra. Then he was band vocalist with Luis Russell , to be heard in " The Very Thought of You " and "You Gave Me Everything But Love" (Apollo); In 1948, four more numbers with Benny Carter's All Stars for DeLuxe (“It's Too Soon to Know”) were created in Los Angeles. “Am I Asking To Much” (DeLuxe 3195), also in New York with a studio band (probably with Charlie Margulis , Buddy Morrow , Peanuts Hucko , Stan Webb , Art Ryerson , Jack Lesberg ). In 1950 he recorded "Please Open Your Heart" with the Lucky Millinder Orchestra; 1951 and a. also " As Time Goes By " and "Just Call My Name", accompanied by Big Chief Russell Moore , Chauncey Haughton , Ted "Snookie" Hulbert (as), Budd Johnson , Clarence Royster (ts), Dave McRae (bar, as) , Howard Biggs (p), Joe Benjamin and Art Blakey . The jazz discographer Tom Lord lists his involvement in jazz and R&B between 1946 and 1951 in eight recording sessions. In later years, Richardson lived in Chicago.
