Inga Raab

Inga Raab (* 1979 in Leipzig ) is a German cellist.

Life

Inga Raab received her first violoncello lessons at the age of seven. In Ahrensburg near Hamburg she was taught by Edwin Koch since 1990 . In 1997 she began - initially as a young student until 1999 - to study with Troels Svane at the Musikhochschule Lübeck . In 2000 she moved to Stefan Forck at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin . Since 2003 she has been part of David Geringas' master class there . She took part in numerous master classes, among others with Steven Isserlis and Raphael Wallfisch . Among other awards, Inga Raab won first prize at the IV Domenico Gabrielli Competition in Berlin in 2001 and came third in the Lluis Claret Competition in Spain in 2004 . She gave her debut concert with orchestra with the Junge Philharmonie Marburg in 2002. Since then she has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in Spain, Italy, Lithuania and many cities in Germany, including the Berlin Philharmonic. From 2004 to 2006 Inga Raab was a scholarship holder at the Akademie der Berliner Philharmoniker , with which she then played on the basis of a temporary contract in the 2007/2008 season. From 2008 to 2009 Inga Raab was principal cellist at the Zurich Opera House | Zurich Opera House. Since then she has played as a guest solo cellist with various orchestras such as the Rundfunk-Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin, SWR Freiburg-Baden-Baden, Camerata Bern, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Bergen Symphonie Orchester and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.
