Inge Seiffge-Krenke

Inge Seiffge-Krenke (born September 28, 1948 ) is a professor of psychology, psychoanalyst and until 2013 headed the department for developmental and educational psychology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz . She is also on the scientific advisory board of the Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks .

In her numerous national and international publications she deals with general developmental psychology as well as with psychotherapy for children and adolescents.

Career

Inge Seiffge-Krenke studied psychology in Göttingen and Gießen from 1967 to 1972. She then received a graduate scholarship for a doctorate . She obtained her doctorate in 1981. In 1985 she completed her habilitation in the entire field of psychology. At the same time she graduated as a psychoanalyst in 1986 . She received her first professorship at the Institute for Medical Psychology in Giessen. After a further professorship in Bonn, she was professor at the Institute for Psychology in Mainz and head of the department for developmental and educational psychology from 1997 until her retirement in 2013. She has been visiting professor at the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin since 2014 .

Since 2005 member of the scientific advisory board of the Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks and since 2016 also spokeswoman for the advisory board of the Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks.

On April 24, 2007 she was awarded the Heigl Prize for the book: 'Psychoanalytical and depth psychological therapy with young people'.
