Ingeborg Brandt

Ingeborg Brandt (* 1920 ) is a former German journalist . The columnist was the first section head of the daily newspaper Die Welt .

Career

Brandt was a research assistant at the German Institute in Marseille in 1944 and an assistant at the Institute for International Studies in Berlin from 1944 to 1945 . From 1945 to 1947 she worked as an interpreter. With an interpretation of Paul Valéry's "Mon Faust" as a dissertation she received her doctorate in 1949 at the University of Hamburg . 1950 Brandt feature - editor in the world on Sunday in Hamburg . As the successor to Alexander Peter Eismann , in 1952 she was appointed head of the arts section at Die Welt , making her the first woman to be given a head of department in the publishing house. Brandt worked for the world until she retired in 1983 .
