Act

Stadelmann passed her midwifery exam in 1976 and then worked in a clinic for eight years. Since the mid-1980s she has been working freelance in prenatal care, home obstetrics and postpartum care . She is a co-founder of a midwifery practice and initiated the establishment of the Erdenlicht Birth House in Kempten in 1999 .

In collaboration with the Bahnhof-Apotheke Kempten, she began to manufacture and sell flavor mixtures based on her own recipes in the late 1980s. In 1994 her book The Midwife Consultation Hour was published , which is considered one of the best-selling guides on the topics of pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium and has been translated into several languages. The book is self-published (Stadelmann Verlag) because, according to Stadelmann, it was rejected by other publishers because of missing photos. In her own publishing house, which in the meantime also publishes works by other authors, she also published other health guides with a naturopathic focus.

Ingeborg Stadelmann gives nationwide lectures on alternative medical topics such as natural obstetrics, herbal medicine, homeopathy and aromatherapy . She rejects medicine based on scientific evidence ( evidence-based medicine ).

She also leads advanced training courses and specialist seminars for midwives, nursing staff and pharmaceutically trained staff. Since 2004, Stadelmann has been a member of the board of the non-profit association Forum Essenzia eV , which is committed to promoting, protecting and spreading aromatherapy, aroma care and aroma culture. She has been the first CEO since 2009.

Ingeborg Stadelmann is married and has three children.

criticism

Stadelmann's propagation of alternative medical therapies and widespread rejection of scientifically undisputed forms of diagnostics and therapy has been criticized by experts. These include, for example, the rejection of ultrasound examinations or the administration of vitamin D. She is also accused of uncritically promoting home births, even in cases in which the pregnant woman is clearly at risk.
