Maria Consolata Betrone , born Pierina Betrone (born April 6, 1903 in Saluzzo , Piedmont , Italy ; † July 18, 1946 in the Sacro Cuore monastery of Moriondo Moncalieri ( Turin ), Italy) was an Italian nun of the Capuchins and a mystic .

Life

Pierina Betrone joined the order of the Capuchin Sisters in Turin in 1929 and on February 28, 1930 she took on the name Maria Consolata to dress . She made her profession on April 8, 1934. Since she was dressed, she had mystical experiences, especially visions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus . The invocation of Jesus, Mary I love you, which is very popular in modern popular piety, goes to Sister Consolata , saves souls . In Catholic asceticism , she is considered to be the successor of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus and her Little Way .
