Good from Ingliste
The historical Ingliste estate was first mentioned in a document in 1526. The mansion is located in the middle of a park on the banks of the Keila River. It was originally built in the 18th century. The vaulted cellars date back to the Middle Ages.
From 1724 until it was expropriated as part of the Estonian land reform in 1919 , the estate was owned by the noble Baltic German family Staal .
In particular, the squire Carl Friedrich von Staal (1721–1789) had the manor house expanded from the middle of the 18th century. Ingliste was famous for its rich carpentry work from the 1770s and 1780s. They are probably the work of the master Johan Christian Schönrock from Juuru . A striking feature of the manor house was the baroque tower spire above the main portal, which was built around 1750. It was the only one of its kind in Estonia.
In 1796, Ernst von Staal had the hall in the west wing added. At the end of the 19th century, the wide stone terrace in the historicism style at the rear of the building was completed and the estate was expanded to include ancillary buildings. The owners had small pavilions and bridges built in the park. In addition to the manor house, the distillery, the administrator's house, a water mill, the coach house and some stables have been preserved today.
Two serious fires during the revolution in 1905 and 1984 severely affected the building. Most of the magnificent baroque interior and stucco decoration were lost.
The renovated mansion is now privately owned. Somewhat away is the former private cemetery of the von Staal family. Today it is in poor condition and largely overgrown.
