Ingo Böckenholt

Ingo Böckenholt (born January 20, 1956 in Ratingen ) is a German economist and president and managing director of the International School of Management (ISM).

Life

Böckenholt studied industrial engineering at the University of Karlsruhe from 1978 to 1983 , where he did his doctorate on the subject of "Pretest Marketing". After studying and doing his doctorate, he initially worked as a management consultant at AT Kearney and in 1990 moved to Karstadt AG as director of corporate planning / controlling . This was followed by positions as commercial director of the Vorwerk group (1993–1996), managing director of the Tchibo group (1996–2003) and commercial director of Dachser GmbH & Co. KG . (2003-2008).

Böckenholt has been a professor at the private business school International School of Management (ISM) based in Dortmund since 2008 and teaches in the fields of international management and logistics. From 2009 to 2011 he was dean at ISM Dortmund. From 2011 to 2012 he was Vice President. In 2013 Böckenholt was appointed president of the university and in this position succeeded Bert Rürup , who moved to the university's board of trustees. During Böckenholt's presidency, the International School of Management has founded a total of six university research institutes since 2014 and applied for accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

In addition to his position at ISM, Böckenholt has been a member of the board of trustees of the vocational training center for the insurance industry in Dortmund (BWV) eV since 2016 and a member of the advisory board of the Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF) since 2018.
