Ingo Drescher

Ingo Drescher (born July 12, 1956 ) is a German lawyer with a doctorate, honorary professor at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and presiding judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Career

After completing his legal training and working as a research assistant at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen, Drescher joined the higher judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1986 . As a probationary judge, he was employed by the public prosecutor's office and the Stuttgart district and regional court . In October 1989 he was appointed public prosecutor for life at the Stuttgart Public Prosecutor's Office. In 1991 he moved to the Tübingen regional court as a judge at the regional court . In early 2000 he was promoted to judge at the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court . In April 2005 he took over as director of the Tübingen District Court . On August 1, 2007, he was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. Since then, he has been a member, and since February 1, 2017 also Deputy Chairman, of the Second Civil Senate , which is primarily responsible for legal disputes arising from corporate law and sub-areas of capital market law , and took over as Chairman on June 29, 2017. Since January 2012, he has also been a permanent assessor at the federal service court. In March 2016 he was appointed honorary professor at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen.
