Tübingen District Court
The Tübingen Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction and one of eight regional courts in the district of the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court .
history
The history of the jurisdiction in Tübingen goes back to the Tübingen town charter in the 14th century. Initially, the Tübingen City Court met in the open air, after the Tübingen Town Hall was built in 1435 in this building.
Since 1514 Tübingen has housed the court court, the highest court in Württemberg. Under Napoleonic occupation, the court in Tübingen was closed in 1805 and the newly formed court of appeal and court of appeal (later: upper tribunal) moved to Stuttgart.
Tübingen became the seat of a higher district court and, from 1819, a royal district court as an intermediate instance. In 1843, the district court was assigned the office of public prosecutor, which is considered the forerunner of today's public prosecutor's office.
With the establishment of the Reich in 1871 and the entry into force of uniform Reich Justice Laws , the Higher Administrative Court became the District Court and the District Court became the Regional Court of Tübingen, as they still exist today.
