Ingredion is an American manufacturer of starch and products that goes back to Corn Products International (CPI) founded in 1906 .

Ingredion produces glucose syrup , high fructose corn syrup , dextrose , polyols and maltodextrins based on corn starch .

The only German location is in Hamburg (formerly Maizena ).

history

Ingredion was formed in 1906 as the Corn Products Refining Company through the merger of the New York Glucose Company , the Corn Products Company and the Warner Sugar Refining Company . This was done at the instigation of the first chairman, ET Bedford .

In 1959, the Corn Products Refining Company merged with The Best Foods to become the Corn Products Company . In 1969 it changed its name to CPC International . On December 31, 1997, Ingredion was spun off and the remaining food division of CPC International was renamed Bestfoods (now Unilever ).

In 2010, Ingredion acquired AkzoNobel National Starch , a former subsidiary of ICI .

In 2015 the Penford Corporation was taken over.
