Ingrid Fliter

Ingrid Fliter (born September 23, 1973 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine pianist.

Life

She took piano lessons in her hometown with Elizabeth Westerkamp and then at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Buenos Aires. She first appeared in public at the age of eleven and made her debut at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires at the age of 16 . On the recommendation of Martha Argerich , after graduating in 1992 she studied at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música with Vitaly Margulis in Freiburg im Breisgau . From 1994 she studied in Italy. In 2000 she won the silver medal at the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw . In 2006, she received the four-year Gilmore Artist Award .

From 2007 to 2009 she was the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist. Ingrid Fliter has recorded works by Beethoven and Chopin for the CD labels Vai and EMI Classics . She has been under contract with the Scottish label Linn Records since 2014 .
