In the end, Phil visits Danny T in prison and tells him that he will take care of him when he is released.

Reviews

"" Homefront "starts explosively, but thriller expert Gary Fleder [...] and screenwriter Sylvester Stallone [...] mainly rely on subtle tension - with well-dosed outbursts of violence. Soon the viewer is as electrified as Kate Bosworth, who, as Bodine's drug-addicted sister, lets the argument escalate and thus triggers a chain reaction with serious consequences. Jason Statham is doing well as usual, but the secret star of the film is James Franco [...] as a charismatic villain. An action film without the eccentrically exaggerated villains - you don't get that too often either. Conclusion: Subtle thrills and brute force - a gripping action thriller that is also convincing in terms of performance. "

“Sylvester Stallone wrote the book. James Franco plays a dealer, Winona Ryder a prostitute and Jason Statham a foreign body. Nothing fits together in the film 'Homefront'. "

- Ronald Bluhm, Die Welt

"Gary Fleder's" Homefront "is the nightmare of all pacifists and Waldorf school parents! Because in this homage to the uncompromisingly reactionary action cinema of the 70s and 80s, written by Sylvester Stallone (!), Not only an ex-undercover cop with targeted punches and headshots stands up for his rights, but also his cute 9-year-old daughter [ ...]. But whoever accepts such a vigilante-justice-is-the-right-of-every-righteous-American attitude as part of the genre canon, at least in this country for a long time, can have a lot of fun with "Homefront". Because not only does Gary Fleder know no mercy in the action scenes [...], he also spices up the tried and tested plot with enough small peculiarities to avoid the already often held screen duel between the law-and-order loner and the numerically superior redneck gangsters to give the necessary freshness. [...] Conclusion: Jason Statham Festival for fans of straight ass kicking action - everyone else should stay outside. "
