Ingrid Klein

Ingrid Klein , née Klebl, (* 1941 ) was the first female federal chairwoman of the Catholic youth group in Austria at the beginning of the 1970s and chairwoman of the Catholic women's movement in Austria from 1987 to 1999 .

Live and act

Klein graduated from a commercial academy and studied a few semesters at world trade at the University of Vienna . First she worked from 1959 to 1966 as the diocesan secretary of the young girls, before she was elected central leader from 1966 to 1971. From 1971 to 1973 as the first woman federal chairwoman of the entire Catholic youth group in Austria. During this time, she was also the first woman to hold the office of chairman of the Catholic Youth Organization for four years, in which position she was also responsible for the ferryman's publishing house and the toy oasis.

Marriage and founding a family interrupted her church career until Herta Pammer won her over to lead and organize educational work in the federal executive committee of the Catholic women's movement and soon afterwards became deputy chairwoman. In 1984 she played a major role in the Austrian Pastoral Conference in 1984 with the topic "Woman, partner in the church". From 1987 to 1999 she was chairwoman of the Catholic women's movement in Austria and in 1989 she was vice-chairwoman of the Vienna Diocesan Forum led by Cardinal Hans Hermann Groër .

At parish level she worked for many years in a leading position in the parish council of the parish of St. Othmar in Mödling .
