Ingrid Seeler , maiden name Ingrid Burghardt , (born October 5, 1928 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Hamburg parliament .

Life

After graduating from high school, Ingrid Burghardt studied Romance studies, English, philosophy and education. From 1954 to 1956 she worked as an exchange teacher in France. In 1958 the doctorate followed. From 1957 to 1961 she taught as a study assistant at the Peter Petersen School in Hamburg. She married the future Senator from Hamburg, Hans-Joachim Seeler . After the birth of her third child, she quit school. In total, she became the mother of four children. Her son Christian Seeler (* 1958) is an actor and was director of the Hamburg Ohnsorg Theater from 1996 to 2017 .

From 1965 she was a lecturer at the adult education center and from 1966 to 1982 she was a member of the board of the adult education center.

politics

Ingrid Seeler's political home is in the SPD local association (district) Hamburg-Bramfeld- Süd (today Bramfeld-Farmsen). There she was elected as chairwoman from 1972 to 1978 and thus belonged to the expanded SPD district executive committee Hamburg-Wandsbek . From 1966 to 1970 she was sent by her party to the deputation of the youth authority.

From 1974 to 1986, Seeler was elected as a member of the Hamburg parliament. Her commitment was primarily to youth and cultural policy. Even after she left the citizenry, she worked on a voluntary basis in a number of institutions.
