The Inn Bridge between Braunau and Simbach is a road bridge over the River Inn . It connects the cities of Braunau am Inn in Upper Austria and Simbach am Inn in Bavaria . Simbach shows the Inn bridge in the coat of arms.

The border clearance takes place in Simbach due to lack of space, there is an old customs house of both countries. From Germany to the middle of the bridge, the road on the bridge is called Staatsstraße 2112 . In Braunau, after a roundabout , the street leads to the town square in the old town or into "Simbacher Straße".
The Simbach – Braunau railway bridge crosses the Inn approximately 350 meters northeast of the road bridge .
history
- A wooden bridge was destroyed in the town fire of Braunau in 1380.
- The first modern bridge was built between 1892 and 1894 and had a five-arched iron structure; on the Austrian side there was a larger portal as an entrance. The entire bridge was destroyed by the Wehrmacht on May 1, 1945 for tactical reasons. The remains were removed between 1947 and 1949.
- From 1945 to 1949 consisted pontoon bridge of the United States Armed Forces .
- In 1950 a new permanent bridge was completed. The reinforced concrete structure carries a two-lane asphalt roadway (one lane in each direction) and one sidewalk on each side. The length is 272.0 meters.
- During the refugee crisis in Europe from 2015 , the bridge was closed to vehicles for 3 days because refugees were staying there or were going to Germany.

At the beginning of the bridge in Simbach there has been a large sculpture by the sculptor Dominik Dengl since April 12, 2008. The bronze sculpture shows the river god Aenus (the Latin name of the Inn) riding a huchen . The huchen is the largest predatory fish living in the Inn.
