The Inner Crater (English for Inner Crater ) is the 3794 m high summit crater of the Mount Erebus volcano on the Antarctic Ross Island . It rises from the Main Crater and is home to an anorthoclase - phonolithic lava lake .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names gave the crater its descriptive name in 2000 .
