Island mill
The Inselmühle (today's spelling Insel Mühle ) is a hotel , restaurant and beer garden in Von-Kahr-Straße 87 in the Untermenzing district of the Bavarian capital of Munich .
history
The history of the inn can be traced back to the year 1445. The water mill was in operation until 1923 . The core of the two-wing building comes from the 18th and 19th centuries. Century. In 1912 the farm wing was converted into an ice cream factory . In 1913 the main wing was extended to include the restaurant.
In 2009, Eric Pölzl took over the facility from the Kerscher family, who had meanwhile acquired the Aubinger Einkehr and extensively renovated it and now runs the Alter Wirt inn in Obermenzing . In 2016, bank clerk Susanne Mittermeier took over Inselmühle.
The building is registered as an architectural monument in the Bavarian list of monuments.
Beer garden
The beer garden on the southern side of Von-Kahr-Straße is located on the Würm and is shielded from the street by a small wood. The beer garden, which can accommodate up to 600 people, is open on sunny days between April and September.
