The building at Inselstraße 12 in the Langerfeld-Mitte residential area in Wuppertal is a listed residential building in a Bergisch style .

The house was built at the end of the 18th century and is part of the historical center of the former rural community of Langerfeld . It is a two-storey, eaves half-timbered house with a gable roof and a central roof house . The facade was partly covered with slate , partly the building has a basement.

The base of the building is massive and graduated because of the slope. The corner compartments on the first floor have slightly curved head struts , a pair of long head struts each underneath the roof house, the uprights , struts and bars of the framework otherwise form a regular grid. Three of the green shutters on the ground floor, typical of Bergische houses, have been preserved.

The roof house is completely covered with slate , as is the west side of the building from the base to the gable. There is a window axis on the south side , the gable has a slightly protruding collar and a small pair of windows. On the east side you can see the half-timbered construction, which is divided into six sections, the corner and the two middle sections have a slightly curved head strut, the middle struts form a pair around the center stand. Additions were made on the south side, which is why only three windows and one window axis can be seen here.

The building was placed under protection in 1992 as a characteristic example of the Bergisch half-timbered building from the late 18th century and as an important part of Langerfeld's still preserved historical structure.
