Stander
As Stander is usually referred to triangular, outside the marine and maritime nature but also different (often square) shaped flags to indicate functions, officer or officials or their vehicles or locations, or for signal transmission. The origins are the medieval standards that troop leaders and rulers used to mark their presence. Stander are used, among other things, as
- Club stands of yacht clubs or sailing clubs
- Rank flags of military commanders ( command flags) or symbols of military facilities
- Stand of military associations, e.g. B. German Armed Forces command sign
- Wind direction indicator ( clicker ) at the top of the mast on sailing vehicles
