The list of vehicle command signs of the Bundeswehr includes all command flags, stands and pennants that have been used since the Bundeswehr was founded. The signs are based on the central guideline A2-2630 / 0-0-3 "Military forms and celebrations of the Bundeswehr" (formerly ZDv 10/8) of the Bundeswehr.
In contrast to the federal government's motor vehicle stands , which show the eagle on the federal shield , this is shown in the “strict” form on the command signs of the Bundeswehr, as can be seen in the federal coat of arms .
The respective armed forces have the following basic colors (italics = RAL color , the common name in brackets): Army : Turquoise green (green, hunter green); Luftwaffe : daffodil yellow (yellow, golden yellow); Navy : gentian blue (blue); Force base : fire red (red, crimson); Central medical service : cobalt blue (cobalt blue, dark blue)
Due to his six army restructuring so far, numerous additions and changes to the command signals have taken place during the history of the Bundeswehr. After the first introduction of command symbols in 1957, there were changes in 1959, 1961, 1973, 1995 and most recently in 2004 in which attempts were made to equip all command levels with “systematically” uniform symbols. To this day, this has not happened with the German Navy, which does not provide all command levels with appropriate symbols. Command signals that had already been adopted in 1995 were abolished in 2004 as there was no need for them.
The command signs may be attached to the front left fender of the service vehicle as a motor vehicle stand, provided the vehicle is equipped with the device. According to ZDv 43/2, the stand must be removed or covered if the officer authorized to drive the stand does not use the company vehicle.
Introduced in 1959 in size 22 × 22 cm. In 1995 changed to the dimensions 30 × 30 cm. However, the flag was continued from 1995-2004 in the dimensions 22x22 cm for the deputy inspector general.
Since 2004
Command signal of the Deputy Inspector General of the Bundeswehr
In the area of the middle and lower command level of the army, each type of weapon of the army is assigned a weapon color . This forms the basic color of the various command symbols. The army knows a total of 12 weapon colors as well as the basic color "pure white" for the deputy division commander . Depending on the command level, there are different black stripes on the command symbols. The exception is the sign of the engineer troops, whose stripes are kept in white. Command symbols at division level are only available in the weapon colors green and pink . The command badges shown below show those for company commanders of the respective military type. Battalion commanders indicate these with a thick, horizontal black line.
Command flags for the commander of the fleet command , the head of the naval office and the commander of the naval support command (post 2001 canceled) were only provided between 1995 and 2004 and were then abolished. The commander of the fleet command and the head of the naval office were given the command of the admiral flags to which they were entitled in accordance with MDv 161/1 assigned as command character.
The middle and lower command levels of the armed forces base are based on those of the army, but not all branches of service are represented. The basic color of the commander of a military area command is basically green .
