The Specialized Task Force Marine ( SEK M ) was an infantry federation of the German Navy in battalion strength , which was stationed in Eckernförde . They were subordinate to the operational flotilla 1 and, together with the naval protection forces, formed the infantry component of the navy.

It comprised the special forces of the Navy - combat swimmers , mine divers and the on- board operations company.

The battalion was established in 1997 and disbanded on April 1, 2014. Their tasks will be continued by the sea ​​battalion and special forces command of the Navy, which were newly established on April 1, 2014 .
