The Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications (ICA) is an international society founded in 1990 to promote combinatorics .

Its headquarters are at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton .

There are simple members (academics and students who have not yet obtained a doctorate - graduate and student members - as well as companion members ), associate fellows (with Ph.D. and usually with the rank of assistant professor in the American system) and fellows (established scientists). In 2014 the ICA had around 800 members from over 40 countries.

They publish the Bulletin of the ICA three times a year with research articles from members.

There are the Hall Medal (for members not older than 40 years), the Euler Medal (for outstanding achievement by members), and the Kirkman Medal (for members whose Ph.D. was not more than four years ago). They are each named after well-known combinatorial experts ( Leonhard Euler , Thomas Kirkman , Marshall Hall ). There is also the Stanton Medal (named after the founder of the ICA Ralph Stanton ) for contributions to combinatorics outside of research. There are honorary fellows.
