The Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Acre , in short: Instituto Federal do Acre ( IFAC ) is a technical educational institution ( polytechnic ) in the Brazilian state of Acre , based in Rio Branco .

IFAC offers courses and training programs at various levels of secondary and tertiary education on six campuses in five different cities in the state (Rio Branco, Cruzeiro do Sul , Sena Madureira , Xapuri and Tarauacá ).

As a federal school, the facility is subordinate to the Brazilian Ministry of Education ( Ministério da Educação ).

history

Ifac was created with the transformation of the previous Escola Técnica Federal do Acre by Law 11.892 of December 29, 2008. Rector is the environmental engineer and professor Rosana Cavalcante dos Santos.

It is part of the nationwide network of higher technical education institutions Rede Federal de Educação Profissional, Científica e Tecnológica (RFEPCT).
