The Velilla Power Plant ( Spanish Central térmica de Velilla ) is a coal-fired power plant in the municipality of Velilla del Río Carrión , Palencia Province , Spain .

The installed capacity of the power plant is 516 MW . It is owned by Iberdrola and is also operated by Iberdrola. The power plant went into operation with the first unit in 1967. Iberdrola applied to shut down the power plant at the end of 2019; it was shut down on June 30, 2020.

Power plant units

The power plant consists of two units that went into operation in 1967 and 1984. The following table gives an overview:
