Instituto Atlético Central Córdoba , Instituto for short , is an Argentine sports club in Córdoba . He is known for its football team, which is currently in the second Argentine League Nacional B plays. His nickname is La Gloria ( Spanish for fame ).
history
The association was founded on August 8, 1918 by railway workers of the Central Argentino , the line between Córdoba and Buenos Aires , as Instituto Ferrocarril Central Córdoba . Six years later the club took on its current name. He quickly rose to the Cordoba Premier League and won all championships between 1925 and 1928.
After soccer became a professional sport in Argentina in 1931, Instituto sank into insignificance for several decades. It was not until the 1960s that he was able to win the provincial championship three times. In 1972 the club rose to the second Argentine division.
In the 1980s, the club rose to the first Argentine league for the first time . He stayed there until 1989 when he was relegated back to the second division. He also played in the first division between 1999 and 2000 and between 2004 and 2006.
"Presidente Perón" stadium
The club's stadium, Estadio Presidente Perón , is also called Monumental de Alta Córdoba by fans and is located in the Alta Córdoba district , north of the center. It has a capacity of 26,535 people, making it Córdoba's third largest stadium.
