As the national cup winner in 2014 , Huracán took part in the 2015 Copa Libertadores . On February 4, 2015, they met Alianza Lima . After a presentation by Patricio Toranzo , Ábila scored with the right in the 5th minute to make it 1-0 (it was 4-0).

In the summer of 2016, Ábila left the club for Brazil . On June 22nd, his signing was announced by Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte . The player played his first game in Série A on July 17, 2016 against Fluminense Rio de Janeiro . On August 5, 2016, he scored in the game against SC Internacional in the 14th minute to equalize 1: 1 (4: 1) and thus his first goal in the league.

After Cruzeiro did not pay the full transfer fee, it was taken over by Boca Juniors and Ábila went back to Argentina in mid-2017. The transfer rights were now half with Boca Juniors and Huracán.
