The IE Business School is a business school based in Spain and since 2009 part of the IE University .

history

The institution was founded in 1973 as an independent, non-profit private university. In contrast to many Spanish universities, it was founded as a religiously neutral institution. IE Business School was the first university in Madrid to offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree . The language of instruction is partly English and partly Spanish . Well over 70% of the students in the English-language master’s programs are from abroad.

It is one of the few global universities with a triple accreditation (" Triple Crown ") u. a. from EQUIS , the Association of MBAs and AACSB . Fewer than 100 universities worldwide can show this accreditation.

Martin Boehm has been dean since 2017, succeeding Santiago Íñiguez de Onzoño, who had been dean of IE Business School in Madrid since 2004 and was appointed Executive President of IE University .

Since the institution encourages economic independence, there were around 350 business start-ups by students and graduates between 1995 and 2005.
