Instrument of the year
Instrument of the Year is an initiative launched in 2008 by the regional music councils from the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringia and Saarland, which with an action program arouse wide interest in want to awaken an instrument and its meaning. The focus is on instruments that deserve more attention or that are difficult to find young musicians. The music project also promotes public relations for music in general. One or more regional music councils are responsible for the annual theme.
