The Integrated Comprehensive School Alexej von Jawlensky (also Alexej von Jawlensky School) is an Integrated Comprehensive School (IGS) in Wiesbaden and has been a certified culture school of the State of Hesse since 2011 .

history

In 2008 the State of Hesse asked the Helene Lange School to set up a new IGS. This was built on the site of the former Ludwig Ehrhard School. For this purpose, the existing school building was renovated and rebuilt by the architects Zaeske und Partner . The name giver for the new school was the German-Russian painter Alexej von Jawlensky .

In the 2009/2010 school year, the first 110 fifth graders started school.

Since February 2011 there has been a cafeteria-theater building in the schoolyard.

The school received a stele of tolerance in May 2011 .

Educational work, equipment and offers

The school is a compulsory all-day school. There is a voluntary opportunity to participate in various working groups. There are two theater groups and various offers to get creative.

There are English , French and Spanish taught as a foreign language. Media education is a compulsory subject, and work studies are also offered as elective courses.

The school has a school social work as well as an advice and support center. The latter supports inclusive teaching. There is also a cafeteria , a theater room and a school garden.

Film, theater and dance projects take place at regular intervals. These projects are part of the educational concept of the school.

There is a school association with the Carl-von-Ozzietzky-Schule, an upper-level high school in Wiesbaden-Klarenthal .

Special

Readings by authors and theater performances take place at irregular intervals. Also be witnesses of World War II invited.
