Intel 5 series
The Intel 5 series is the successor to the Intel 4 series and is the first generation of chipsets , which is intended for the 1366 and 1156 sockets . With the exception of the X58, all members of the series deviate from the three-chip design of previous generations. The functions of the northbridge are integrated in the processor ( platform controller hub ).
