Intel 8284
The Intel 8284 is an oscillator chip , which for the Intel 8086 / 8087 / 8088 / 8089 processors has been developed. The component was delivered in an 18-pin DIL package and sent to NEC , Siemens , and others. a. licensed.
It consists of a clock generator and additional logic for READY / RESET control. It has been used since the first PCs ( IBM-PC and IBM-PC XT ). The successor 82284 is used in the IBM PC AT .
