Intereconomics publishes articles in English by well-known authors from science, politics and business on current topics in economic and social policy in Europe . The magazine wants to build a bridge between science and political practice and inform the readers scientifically sound and in non-technical language about current economic policy topics. It is one of the traditional economic journals.

publication

Intereconomics was first published in 1966 in Hamburg , where the editorial team is still based today. Since 2007, as a result of the dissolution of the Hamburg World Economic Archive (HWWA) , Intereconomics has been published by the German Central Library for Economic Sciences (ZBW) - Leibniz Information Center for Economics. Economists who feel obliged to provide scientific and empirical policy advice have been appointed to the scientific advisory board.

Since January 2009 Intereconomics has been published jointly by ZBW and the Brussels think tank Center for European Policy Studies (CEPS).

Intereconomics consists of the sections Editorial, Forum, Articles and Letter from America. In the editorial, a current economic policy event or topic is briefly commented on, while in the forum a set of topics is discussed in several contributions from different perspectives and schools of thought. The forum provides an overview of the current state of the discussion in the respective field and is mostly the focus of the issue. The articles deal with further economic policy issues and trends. Most of them are written by European economic researchers.
