World Federation for Religious Freedom

The International Association for Religious Freedom (Engl. International Association for Religious Freedom [IARF]) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the world for religious freedom begins. Founded in Boston in 1900 , it is the oldest international non-denominational group.

The IARF comprises constituents in 25 countries with diverse faith traditions including Buddhism , Christianity , Hinduism , Islam , Shintoism , Unitarianism and Zoroastrianism .

In 1972 the IARF was granted general advisory status to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This enables her to intervene in UN bodies on questions of religious minorities. The organization played a key role in the development of an NGO committee for freedom of religion or belief (CoFRoB).
