The International Association of Financial Executives Institutes (IAFEI) is a non-profit organization that deals with topics related to finance and business management.
The international umbrella organization , founded in 1969, connects around 12,000 financial decision- makers through the CFO organizations. The association was founded under Swiss civil law (Articles 60–79) and is registered in Zurich . Its secretariat is in Makati City in the Philippines.
history
The First International Congress of Financial Executives took place in Marbella in 1969 . The host was the Association of Spanish Financial Directors (AEEF). At the event, the establishment of an umbrella organization for the national finance decision-making associations was initiated. At the following, second world congress, which was held in Brussels in 1970 , the statutes of the new association were replaced by 55 representatives of the 15 founding members (the financial director institutes in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Spain, United Kingdom and the affiliated associations of the USA and Canada, today: FEI - Financial Executives International ) ratified. One of the most important initiators of the founding of the association was Karl Gustaf Ratjen ( Metallgesellschaft ).
aims
The purpose of the association is the worldwide promotion and standardization of standards in the commercial management of commercial enterprises. The dissemination of best practice in financial management and the support of ethical guiding standards such as the collection of data (e.g. by the International Observatory of Management Control ) represent, in addition to the possibility of networking, essential focal points of the association's work.
The IAFEI World Congress has been held annually since 1969. The congress is organized on a rotating basis by one member institute in their country. The 43rd IAFEI World Congress was held in conjunction with the 6th CFO Summit Emerging Europe & CIS in October 2013 in Warsaw . Since 2007, IAFEI has published the English-language IAFEI Quarterly , a quarterly, digital trade journal for its members.
