International Committee of Military Medicine

The International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM; Engl. ) And the Comité International de Médecine Militaire (CIMM; . Double ) is the July 21, 1921 as Permanent Commission of the International Congresses of Military Medicine and -Pharmazie ( English International Congress of Military Medicine and Pharmacy -ICMMP) founded international committee for military medicine with seat in Liège .

The institution was recognized on May 21, 1952 by the World Health Organization as a specialist association and has had its current name since April 28, 1990. The founding resolution for an international organization for the military medical services of the nations was made at the 28th workshop of the Association of US Military Physicians AMSUS met by US Navy Captain (MD) William Seaman Bainbridge and Belgian medical inspector Jules Voncken . Voncken was secretary general of the committee from 1921 until his death in June 1975 . The founding nations in 1921 included Belgium , Brazil , France , Italy , Switzerland , Spain , the United Kingdom and the United States. The member states are represented by the respective national inspector of the military medical service.
